I'm not sorry for having an outrageous mission to 10x the clean energy industry.

01

The Paradox of Ambition: Why Audacious Goals Are Easier to Hit.

Choosing an "outrageously ambitious" mission is actually a shortcut to success. Realistic goals are boring; meaning-driven moonshots—like Swap Robotics’ mission to 10x clean energy—act as a magnet for world-class talent. When your vision is massive, you can recruit the wildly ambitious people that a cash-strapped startup normally couldn’t afford. Plus, if the mission creates genuine social value, you can’t lose: you either change the world or walk away proud that you gave it everything.

02

Identify "10x" Opportunities.

High-growth companies scale by tackling the two biggest problems their customers face. In a world of limited corporate focus, "nice-to-have" products struggle to close. If you want sales to become your superpower rather than your bottleneck, align your product with your customer’s top annual priority. Create a solution so radically better—at least 10x—that the transition becomes a mathematical necessity rather than a hard sell.

03

Master the Win-Win Architecture.

Sustainable growth is built on transactions where both sides thrive. Whether you’re negotiating with a supplier or hiring a new teammate, your goal should be to structure deals that maximize total value over time. Short-term wins at a partner's expense are self-limiting; instead, develop the skill of identifying "aggregate gain." If you consistently leave your partners in a stronger position, you’ll find that doors stay open and your reputation does the heavy lifting for you.
